UPS To Stewart Haas Racing

Jayski is reporting that UPS will not be going to Richard Childress Racing to sponsor the No. 07 driven by Clint Bowyer.

Instead, UPS will sponsor Ryan Newman when he moves over to Stewart Haas Racing.

An announcement of Newman as the driver of the second SHR car is expected at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Office Depot is also expected to be announced as sponsor of Tony Stewart’s car.

The UPS sponsorship will be announced at a later date.


NASCAR Confiscates Nine Engines

Following the Dollar General 300 from Chicagoland Speedway, NASCAR confiscated nine engines from Nationwide teams and are taking them to the R&D center in N.C.

NASCAR will dyno the engines to evaluate how the engines compare.


Busch Wins Dollar General 300

July 12, 2008

Kyle Busch wins the Dollar General 300 from Chicagoland Speedway. The win is the 13th victory for Joe Gibbs Racing, and Busch’s fifth of the season.

Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Brian Vickers, and David Reutimann rounded out the top 5.

Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, and Landon Cassill finished sixth through 10th, respectively.

Notables: Jason Keller (14th), Carl Edwards (16th), Matt Kenseth (17th), Kevin Harvick (18th), Elliott Sadler (21st), David Stremme (23rd), Steve Wallace (24th), Dario Franchitti (26th), and Kenny Wallace (27th).
