Aflac To Sponsor The No. 99

Scene Daily is reporting that Aflac has announced that it has signed on to be the primary sponsor of Carl Edwards and the No. 99 car for 2009 and beyond.

The deal is estimated to be worth about $78 million dollars over three years.

Paul S. Amos II, COO of Alfac, said:

We look forward to our expanded relationship with Carl Edwards and the world-class team at Roush Fenway Racing. Our sponsorship has helped put Aflac in front of businesses of every size and consumers throughout the United States. We are confident that increasing our involvement with this great motorsports leader will only continue to help our business grow.

This news could open up the door for Office Depot to move over to Michael Waltrip Racing, which has been rumored. If that happens, then UPS could move to Roush to sponsor Greg Biffle or to Richard Childress Racing’s No. 31, which is set to lose its AT&T sponsorship at the end of this season. I should note, however, that UPS still has one year left on its deal with MWR.
